Ligneous by Julia Kim

Sometimes the biggest innovation comes from a little nicety. Sometimes a petit edge, added to a traditional look can be much more revolutionary than straining to be avantgarde. And mostly, creating something really new starts with a good idea.

This collection of Julia Kim was officially constructed for 2008. There are clothes for both seasons. Some of them are perfect for the chilly, early-spring days, some of them for a rainy autumn-afternoon, and some of them would even fit the hot summer-nights as well. A complete wardrobe, with variable outfits.

Julia Kim is an aspiring designer, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen, Belgium. Her collection is basically inspired by the dandy-look, filled with unexpected details, organic influences and some hip origami-like tucks, and cuts. The outfits have a truly enchanting, dreamy and intellectual feeling.
The wood-inspired, bark patterns are really refreshing, dosed in very harmonical proportion.

I'm excited about the future designs of Julia Kim, can't wait to see some 2009 pieces. I dare say, she definetly deserves to hold our eyes on!
