Pure Desire - Rozalb de Mura Unisex Painted Trousers

Perhaps it's a kind of fetishism, who knows... in any event, since I first saw I can't get it out of my head. Have you ever felt unappeasable carving to possess a piece of beauty? I think this feeling might be familiar for everyone in our materialistic world, and come on, fashion is all about that. Awaking the slumbering instincts and let them be free...

"... And do not take us into temptation..."
Why not?

Even if these unisex painted Rozalb de Mura trousers would be the perdition itself, I won't protest against them. They are more like a piece of heaven, fallen down to earth, and got dirty from the sky during the fall.

"These statement making painted cotton trousers feature black embroidery on the thighs. "Vitezkotes", the Hungarian for "the string of the brave" is the beautifully embroidered black string that nowadays is a graphic decoration on the traditional Hungarian male costume. This is the symbol that ignited the Transylvanian designer's curiosity and made him delve into XIXth century cutting and assembling techniques." ~ Not Just A Label

Along with other beautiful creations, the pair of delight is available at Not Just A Label's webshop.
Harrowing desire, leave me alone...

Heavenly Aura: Rozalb de Mura

Like I said yesterday, this week is going to be all about menswear. And who could be better to start with, than my favourite Eastern-European brand, Rozalb de Mura by Olah Gyarfas.
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to Paris last week to see their newest collection, but they were very kind and gave me the address of their distributor in Budapest. On friday, I visited the beautiful showroom of Szidonia Szep, and finally could see the amazing peaces by Olah Gyarfas with my own eyes. The spring/summer selection of clothes has not arrived yet, but there were a few pieces from the fall 2008 collection, called "The Thing". I was amazed. All the coats and shirts are really well-tailored, made of very quality materials, and they are simply flawless.
(I can't wait to go back to Budapest in 10 days... because there's a black shirt left, which I dream about, since I first saw it!)

Rozalb de Mura's sping/summer collection will arrive soon too. A wrote a review about the collection, called "The Drums of War Will Thunder Once Again" before. Olah Gyarfas used light colours this time, and the shapes are much more airy than they were in the fall. (I hope, I can see them at the earliest possible moment at the Budapest stockist as well.)

And the story continues with the 'fall 2009' season, that they presented in London a few weeks before. The mens collection's called "Desert Twilight 6A - 3410". What do the numbers mean? A shade of colour, which is used for all the men clothes. 6A-3410 was called "the color of the future", in a research, by colour-psychologist Max Luscher. Very unique idea, to build the whole collection upon the result of this interesting scientific research. And by the way, this greenish-grey dye looks amazing! The cuts, the tailoring and every little details are really well-made.

Rozalb de Mura is a fictional character, a mysterious androgyn, who's getting materialized season by season under the hands of Olah Gyarfas. I think, I'm already mesmerized by him!

Rozalb de Mura Showroom in Paris

These days are going to be very eventful for the people at Rozalb de Mura. After presenting the Fall'09 show in London, they have taken both, "Powder Cadillac 1B-2140 & Desert Twillight 6A - 3410" collections to Paris. The admirable creations of Olah Gyarfas can be discovered at their showroom, from March 9 - 13 at the Institut Culturel Roumain.
I considered their kind invitation a great honour, and like to thank you again Rozalb de Mura!
Unfortunately I can't be there in Paris personally, but I'm going to be engaged in your work on a high-priority level these days!
Also thanks for the lots of information, you sent about the brand and the collection! Can't wait to write about your magnifique designs!
Until then I premise the most beautiful coat from the Fall'09 mens collection.

Eastern Promises

Like the aroma of the purest snow, the taste of the cleanest air, the brightest ray in a gloomy forest. Timeless charm, an unlimited room, antagonism. Extremities fused in a whole. Vital power tinged with melancholy. Every determining trait of our Eastern-European soul.

The time has come to put our region on the map of fashion, and the compass points at a new promising talent, Olah Gyarfas, designer of Rozalb de Mura, the only three year old, Romanian menswear brand.
The theme of his spring '09 collection was "The Drums of War Will Thunder Once Again". Actually I want to feel that rhytm many more times, I want to see fashion rising from its ashes among the Kárpát-mountains.

Olah's creations have a timeless, almost unearthly aura, a unique marriage of minimalistic, razor-sharp shapes and soft fabrics. He uses traditional Transylvanian details, and robot-warrior styles in an effortlessly natural, and very chic way.
His silhouettes remind me of Hedi Slimane's revoultionary Dior Homme creations, but Olah Gyarfas transformed them into his visions, and produced an every-bit individual way of menswear.
I got enslaved by his mysteriously platonic designs, and can't wait to see his winter collection, presented a few hours before in London.
Forward Eastern-Europe!
