S O O N

I'm on my way.

Thursday, 21 January 2010

Icy deep water with steamy warm bubbles

The long and short of it, I jumped into it, straight to the middle, took the plunge...

And now I spend most of my time taking virginities of exotic white spots on an imaginary map. I've already collected a number of wonderful experiences, which are turning to knowledge with the voluble time.

I speak haze and daze until my tied tongue awaits his liberation; until the advent of the subject of my silence.

For the meantime, feast your hungry eyes on the new Fantasy Lookbook by Prada; it's specifically nutritious.

Although I'm not visible, I'm near, hiding in the fuzzy, dense fog.

Chapter 2.0

As the plot does thicken, it's time to start a new chapter. ..
Be gracious to me 2010, embrace me like your predecessor did, through long-long miles.
2009 was RAD. The lesson is given.

"If living is seeing, I'm holding my breath,
In wonder I wonder what happens next,
A new world, a new day to see, see, see..."
Björk

Good-bye 2009.

Christmas Carol

Before the lights go out, and the festive constellation takes its rightful place in the sky, open your eyes and hear the ingenue jingle of my whispering words, feel the snowy taste of my invisible remembrances, pocket some cinnamon kisses from the shadow of the mistletoe and have peaceful Holidays!

For Christmas I wish You brightness and joy,
as regard the New Year, many miles more!

December Declaration

I'm circulating in the hectic flow of the shrewd polar wind since weeks. Time has narrowed to a smothery tight straitjacket.

The days seem to accelerate towards the end of the year. As if I had to clear all the missed, forgotten or adjourned affairs before the snake bites into its tail, and the circle closes.

I dedicate this remaining weeks of the first decade of the 2000's to the disposal of all the unrevealed, criptic treasures, that I still carry around, but can't reach the catharsis of a new beginning with them in my pockets. Purgation takes time, and patience...
Soon.

Woodstock - 40th Anniversary

One of the most iconic photos of the legendary festival.

40 years before I wasn't even a thought. 40 years from now I hope I will still enjoy the freedom of mind.
My "Woodstock" ended last night, when I was running in the middle of a dark highway. I was running to find the way back here. I found it, and finally here I am.
The first chords were already played, and now I continue to compose the repertoire.
It feels good to be back.

Return of the Wayfarer

photo from Hour of the Wolf (Ingmar Bergman, 1968)

In the past two weeks it happend so, that I was under the necessity of roaming somewhere, very far from here, while actually sitting in one spot, just spun around my axis. It was like some kind of test, a hard observation.

However, it was difficult to experience the lack of everything which bent me here, since the first letter I've carefully placed on these pages; it wasn't in vain.

I'm back. For good. Intended.

100th

I wanted to celebrate this historical moment, the centenary post of Miska Walks Miles with something unique, but then realized, that the most special thing is, what I have behind, which I was part in the past few months. And this is only the very beginning, the most of the road is still ahead.
So I just stop for a moment, take a deep breath and continue my journey.

For the hundredth-time.

Events & Decisions

photo from And Men Magazine October 2009 Issue by Katariina Wilson

Mission failed, nothing definitive, just a little transient pain. Like a sobering slap, which points to the fact that the life I live is not a fantasy. This is the necessary evil, which appeares twice a year, in the shape of the exam-period.
Anyways, I decided to get back on the track. I'm just not able to stay away anymore, sit tight silently, make no progress while there's so many interesting and attention-worthy news these days to report about. I can't keep my thoughts to myself, I was silent for too long, and hope there are some who have a need for my words.
All the graduate collections from fashion schools all over the world, with unknown talents to discover, the spring/summer 2010 menswear shows are just around the corner at the end of the month, not mentioning some ongoing own projects...
The long and short of it, Miska continues his journey, be prepared!
For now as a little appetizer here is a short video of Irina Shaposhnikova's '09 master collection (Antwerp Academie) filmed by Pierre Debusschere. Bon appétit!

2 More Days

For some reasons, I have to spend these days in a room, far from fashion and beauty. In a space filled with thick books and thousands of pages to learn.
I'm back in two days. Until then, here are some polaroids from the portfolio of Lina Scheynius to mitigate the thirst of dry eyes.
Wish me luck!

Through The Curtain Ed

A precious friend told me, that the road to heaven was surrounded by yellow eyeballs and into-light-dipped noses. My eyes look yellow in sparkling sunshine.
I just got inspired on this early summer-afternoon by the lazy lights, by my biochemistry book, by the intimate photography of Lina Scheynius and by a curtain in my bedroom. The result is here, in these personal portraits of me.

Hommáge

It was a sudden idea this morning. I had a lot of fun, while framing my own version to the Room's editorial-photo, if I was Patrick Kafka or something like that.

The original ed was posted previously.

Teaser

photo: Hedi Slimane

After four marvellous days, spent at home, in Budapest, I'm back for another busy week in Debrecen.

I'm a little bit tired after that almost 3 hours, spent on a train, so now I will only post a short preview about the upcoming topics.
This week, I'm going to go all-out for spring/summer menswear trends. I've already done some research for promising, young designers, and found much-much more than expected!
There are a whale of ideas and plans in my mind, but now...

Woodland Editorial

I was thinking about posting something personal here, so I went into the forest today, with my talented photographer friend Domonkos Istvan.
We planned to take some early-spring shots, but the weather was a mess (cold like Siberia, rainy and dark). Eventually we took a lot of good pictures, and now I proudly present you my first editorial (or something like that). The colours and the atmosphere is more autumn- than springlike, but I like the result though!
- Waiting for some feedbacks!
