Lanvin Men Sping/Summer '09

photo: Craig McDean

This thematic week of menswear would not be complete without mentioning Lanvin's spring/summer collection.

Lucas Ossendrijver created a laid back, close-to-nature and chic collection for this season. Lightweight materials, easy pyjama-style outfits with playful details and accessories, referencies to Lanvin's women collection, and must-have sandals for the summer!

Decadent but divine, signiture Lanvin menswear.

Lanvin Fall 2009

In a season, which was ruled by '80s referencies, what did Alber Elbaz do? He went back 40 more years, than everyone else, and put a stunning, '40s inspired collection on Lanvin's runway.

He created a 100% wearable, modern, but tastefully nostalgic collection for next fall, and developed Parisian chic to the highest level.
The Lanvin-lady is a very self-conscious strong woman, who doesn't need to compete men around her, and she is fully aware of her womanliness.

There were all the trademark pieces of Lanvin in this collection, the gloves, fur stoles, incredible rich jewellery, the emphasized shoulders (presented in a totally another way, than we've seen so far), satin dresses...

Elbaz did his best, he's absolutely in my top 5, for like 3 seasons already! And it seems, he won't disappoint me soon.
